Joe’S BackYard Band

FAmily Music

Joe’s Backyard Band plays community music! – a festive musical mix for all ages to enjoy together!

A typical hands-clapping, toes-tapping set might include “Jambalaya” (Hank Williams), “Iko Iko” (The Dixie Cups), “Route 66” (Rolling Stones-style), a Bob Marley song, something from Motown, traditional tunes like “Mama Don’t Allow” plus a bunch of original songs that fit right in. The band’s rootsy sound incorporates a wide range of styles – blues to pop, rock, folk, funk and reggae.

Our favorite events are ones where all ages are ready to have fun, from grandparents to the schoolyard set! Public events like festivals, library and lawn concerts and street fairs are the band’s most natural habitat.

“Fantastic...Not only were the concert-goers having a great time, the whole library staff was groovin’ too.”

                        Elieen Dyer, Cranston Public Library

It was our most-popular concert and we enjoyed their eclectic up-beat music … it appealed to our established concert-going members and brought in a fresh new audience.”

Marta Martínez, Friends of Pawtuxet Village

“Apart from their obvious chops and creative set list, the biggest asset the Backyard Band has is their ability to move your feet.”

                                James Comer, Rhode Island Mag

“Fabulous for all ages...” say the folks at Kidoinfo
